DumSor

Independent civic platform

DumSor is an independent civic-accountability platform operated by Obimanso Ltd. It lets citizens in Ghana report local infrastructure issues (such as power outages, water disruptions, sanitation, and similar incidents) and forwards those reports by email to the relevant public body. DumSor is not an official government service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency or assembly.

1. Who we are

This app and service are provided by Obimanso Ltd (“DumSor”, “we”, “us”). For any privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Incident location — the GPS coordinates of an issue you report. We use this to automatically identify the responsible District / Municipal / Metropolitan Assembly for that location.
Photos — images you choose to attach to a report.
Report details — the issue type and any description you provide.
Optional account information — if you create an account, your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number. You can also use the app as a guest without an account.

3. How we use your information

To identify the relevant public body for a reported incident based on its location.
To forward your report (issue type, location, description, and any attached photos) by email to that public body so the issue can be reviewed and addressed.
To display reported incidents and resolution progress within the app.
To operate, secure, and improve the service.

4. How your information is shared

When you submit a report, the report content — including its location, description, and any photos — is sent by email to the relevant public body for the purpose of addressing the issue. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. We may use trusted service providers (for email delivery, cloud storage, and hosting) solely to operate the service.

5. Data retention & security

Reports and associated data are stored securely and retained for as long as needed to operate the platform and maintain a public record of civic issues and their resolution. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

6. Your choices & rights

You may use the app as a guest without providing account details.
Location and photos are only collected when you choose to submit a report.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing [email protected].

7. Children

DumSor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
